Live! Operations

It is only when you are no longer afraid do you begin to live. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. The Merriam Webster dictionary defines strong as physical and intellectual power, as superior of its kind. But with all due respect to webster, there is strong and then there is LIVE! strong. Welcome to Live! Operations…

It is here in the next 76 hours that you will find that moment in time so many people wait a lifetime for. A journey like no other, an experience so extraordinary you begin to believe you can do it…that you can fulfill your destiny…

Set against the backdrop of Camp Lekar off the Choa Chua Kang woods, the Labrador Rangers, Candu Commandos,  Siloso SWOT and Force 136 strive to do what the forefathers did before just like Lim Bo Seng, Lt Adnan and Force 136. Their names may be just memories in our heads but their spirit lives strongly in our hearts. As we strive for that common goal to unleash that hero within us and stretch our potential because we are always stretching the only limits are in our thinking.

We can do it if we believe. Ladies and gentleman, good luck and all the best. Take care and take action.

Passing Out Parade

On the second night, after two hard days of training and slogging it out in the hot sun, sweltering heat and soothing mud, we finally got to our Passing Out Parade. Tonight, we were going to be promoted to the rank of Privates. It was a fitting celebration for the way we have grown in the last 48 hours, the struggles that we have been through to come out stronger, the courage we have gained in the face of adversity, the friendships formed, the spirit of unitedness and of course that journey to unleash one’s best self and take action of our lives. This is the PASSING OUT PARADE. SHUQUN STYLE.

SIT TEST

On the second day of activities, we had these series of activities called the SITUATIONAL TESTS. Basically, each group were given a set of scenarios or challenges we had to overcome. In these different situations, there was in practice the principle of

E+R =O. With each event or scenario that happens to you, how will you react, and what will be your response? This was a test of how we could master each situation, and take responsibility of our actions. And throughout all the stations, we truly got to understand a  sense of perseverance, resilience, responsibility, unity, thinking our of the box and moral courage-the dare to do the right thing.

And counting to 50 never got harder…

Most of the acitivties were simple ones, and yet they are ones we can find in everyday life. So you see everyday we can be put in tough and challenging situations. Some us prefer to hide, escape or give up making decisions and facing the challenges. And yet many others will face them with fortitude, excitement and curiosity. Today, lets step out of our comfort zone and confront our challenges head on, knowing that when we focus on our outcome, anything is possible!

Basic Military Training

Today is a new beginning for us. And with a new beginning is an introduction to a new way of life, a new challenge for a new day. Something fresh beckons us as we face the path ahead with resolve, fortitude and resilience. A journey that will take us far, if we put in our 100 per cent. A journey of discovery that has no boundaries. Today we face the challenge of self discovery as together we make a difference to each other in BASIC MILITARY TRAINING :

in live! operation, doing push ups was just another activity that brought our the best in us

because we learnt that it is only when we push ourselves can we attain greater heights.

without struggle , there can be no strength. And we did push ups as consequences to remind

us that when we make the wrong choices we may face negative consequences, or consequences

that can only make us stronger next time around.
